“Miss livie as you grow up you’re going to notice things about your brother that don’t quite fit with other kids his age. At first it will seem normal, the fun little chair that he uses with light up wheels, the little button on his belly that gives him food, or even the moments where his body tenses up and then he gets really tired. But soon you’ll notice those things that seemed normal are not. Kids like him don’t have these things and don’t do the things that he does. You’ll notice sometimes he doesn’t interact like other kids, or run around like other kids. He communicates in his own little way that our family will understand and maybe others will not. This can be overwhelming at times, and hard to understand. But I promise you, miss livie, that even though our family seems different, abnormal, or even hard to relate to, that you’ll feel incredible happiness for the smallest things. You’ll start to understand that there are other kids like your brother, and you’ll understand them better than anyone else. You’ll be more accepting of different people and lifestyles, you’ll be patient and loving. Our family is different from other families, but I promise you’ll love it. Being different has made us tough, grateful, and more understanding of different people. Welcome to our family, Livie, welcome to #lifewithspecialneeds.”

#2 because of our honeymoon we will be taking time away from email this includes inquiries, custom orders, and customer service. We’re a one woman + awesome husband helper business. I apologized for any inconvenience this may cause. And we looks so forward to serving you in all the ways when we return on the 18th. All packages will be shipped on the 18th. If you chose priority, you should recieve your package in 2 days! Media Mail typically takes 2-6 days on average. Thank you so much for you understanding as we enjoy this much needed break!

Minneapolis was very good to us. It was chilly, yes! But, I noticed something that made my heart smile. It was much more accessible than Nashville. I saw so many people who use assistive technologies out and about with their friends and families. AND at the Vikings stadium employed so many individuals with intellectual disabilities. I wanted to leave a piece of The Able Fables in this city that captured my heart. Its was a delight to see a city putting inclusion into action.

I found this @littlefreelibrary outside of our @airbnb in the north loop of Minneapolis. Little Free Library makes my heart happy. Millions of books a year are exchanged because of them. Thousands and thousands of people who do not have access to books, now do. People of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities are empowered because of The Little Free library. Books for all, that’s an inclusive movement I can get behind.

To the reader that finds Gary’s Gigantic Dream in this Little Free Library, I hope you are empowered to dream BIGGER, to love yourself and others deeper, and to see the strengths in yourself and those who differ from you. I hope you learn a little more about inclusion and representation, and I hope you feel the LOVE and JOY that I poured into this book.
